[ It isn't how she pictured Luke Skywalker.

Up close, his age is more apparent in the weary lines crinkling at the corners of his eyes. But it isn't his weathering of the years he's experienced that shakes the image she'd had of him, large and mythological — a representation of hope. It's the attitude, how he has resigned himself to this as though it were a chore. Worse, he doesn't have the decency to be solemn about reuniting with the same nephew he had turned again, lost faith in, with how flippantly he regards her.

She bristles.

Han wouldn't have had to tranquilize him at all if it weren't for you.

[ He wouldn't be this way if it weren't for you. Luke's mouth hardens, but she can see the flash of grief in his eyes. It only serves to agitate her further — that he would dare look so sorry for himself after what he's done. Han doesn't interrupt her to disagree, only stands silently in the doorframe. The Lanai titter behind him, but he doesn't move, too absorbed in observing his son.

Even after all of this, he seems to trust that Luke knows what to do.
]

Fix it.

[ 'Everyone's a critic. I know what I'm doing,' he tells her, firm and weary instead, and places his palm flat against Ben's forehead. ]
