[ It's just a lot. A lot for anyone to handle and a lot for him to handle at this moment. ]

I know.

[ And he does. He really does know that what happened to him won't change how his mother feels about him--

It's really all the other shit compiled with what's happened to him. He feels weak for needing her approval no, for wanting assurance that she'd take him back even as broken and fucked up as he currently was. Right when he needed her the most he's pushing her away because he feels as though he doesn't deserve it. ]

I'd appreciate it.

[ Everything is still fresh and raw and-- This news can't "cool" properly. Rumors were probably flying around already and Hux's gruesome death at Rey's hands combined with Kylo's disappearance was fodder in a time of war and strife. People feed on this sort of thing.

Leia would need to get ahead of it to control the narrative and find the best way forward. In this way he's just like her, not thinking about this emotionally but logistically. His mother had to know the circumstances so she could proceed the best way forward.

Right now, however, he's tugging at that blanket and getting it back over her properly. Warding off the cold and the probable probing eyes of prudish avian nuns (They're fucking fish). It's their own bubble, they don't have to leave yet. ]
