[ He hardly registers her there at first. His mind is too loud, a cacophony of guilt and self hatred and worthlessness which bubbles over and consumes him.

His arms wrap around her and hold her against him tightly. Really almost too tightly given her size. But she is his only anchor. The only thing holding him and preventing him from bashing against the cliff face of his own emotions and this current reality. Of course he needed her. He needed her and it made him feel weak and selfish. He was that child who waiting in the living room all night for his mother to return from work-- or for the barest chance that his father would come home this night.

His head is buried into her shoulder and he tries to stay focused on her, her warmth, her scent, the sound of her voice-- anything to calm the torrent of emotion that had just been unleashed. But for now... for now he needed release. He needed her. He had nothing else but her. ]
