He's attempted to get his wits back about him, even sat up to glance at the food the general left and then she comes waltzing back in. His eyes follow her form and he wonders at being left alone with her but-- it makes sense.
He broke Poe. No such luck with Rey.
He's tempted to try again, here, now. Perhaps convince her to open the door and let him walk out, but he can't quite get his teeth into the Force right now. And he hasn't puzzled out entirely why he was forced out so harshly.
Yes she was powerful, that was indisputable. But that didn't account for the fact that he couldn't see into her mind at all. It either meant she was exponentially more powerful than he could imagine, or that he was weaker than he thought. Neither of those ideas sit well with him (And he knows what Snoke would accuse him of) so he's hesitant to put any theory to the test.
Still, it's annoying that he didn't successfully interogate her. Get under her skin and have her spilling secrets that she didn't want to give. It came so easily to him, having one imperfect run was an inexcusable blemish. He rationalizes that as the reason he feels so attracted to her, that and her awakening abilities in the Force. She was untrained, rough around every edge-- but she could be powerful. It was tempting, he was just following the footsteps of others before him. Really, it was his duty to show her how to wield her powers.
Rationalization upon rationalization. It builds in his head until all the chatter comes to a halt when his eyes land on her belt.
Two light sabers. His grabs his attention immediately, but then the other.
His eyes narrow and-- for the moment he decides to say nothing. He finds it hard to believe she ever held a lightsaber in her life.
Remember how long We said they're gonna go with out talking? Kylo is taking a dump all over that.
THIS IS HIS FANFIC NOW BITCH. ]
Has Han Solo proven to be the father you've dreamed of?
[ He fully doesn't expect her to respond. His language is inflammatory on purpose. If he's going to talk to himself, might as well rile her to the point she gets angry. ]
