Kylo/Hux: This is such a huge maybe it's almost a no. I am not down for fluffy Kylo/Hux. I don't think Kylo or Hux secretly love each other and that takes form in them wanting to murder each other when they walk into a room and see each other. I do not think Kylo wants anything to do with Hux's dick Ever. I only see this happening as Hux taking advantage of Kylo when he's emotionally compromised and unprotected without Snoke keeping Hux in line.

I know everyone and their mom with an armchair psychologist degree wants to diagnose Kylo Ren/Ben Solo with whatever mental illness checks all the boxes. I know Bipolar and Borderline personality disorder are two popular illnesses to cite when it comes to his mental health. Along with a healthy dose of citing him as a sociopath/psychopath. However, I'm not going to be using those illnesses/personality disorders in how I play Kylo. While they fit on paper, I don't believe "what's wrong with him" presents in the correct fashion in canon for any one of the above listed issues.

I believe Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is suffering from: Recurring Chronic Major Depression it could be passed down through their family given what we know of Anakin and what happened with Luke; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder From his force powers manifesting with him having little control over it as a kid, from being sent away to Luke after his mother couldn't handle him on her own anymore, from his father leaving one day and never coming back, from having a voice whispering in his head his entire life, from that voice being a predator who preyed on his weaknesses and molded him into what he wanted Ben to be, from Luke Skywalker holding a lightsaber above his head, from abuse after abuse from Snoke, and probably a Ton more. Abandonment issues stemming first from his parents (And quite probably friends he had who left for whatever reason, or bridges he burned on his own) and then just. The entire force tbh. And abandonment issues is where he gets his unchecked rage, he, in canon, is quite literally triggered into a rage whenever he confronts someone who he felt abandoned him, or when he feels rejected or left behind. Finally he is a victim of Brainwashing and indoctrination from Snoke. Snoke is a narcissist who was using Kylo as a means to an end, it's been stated and shown that he was ready to kill Kylo after the Last Jedi since he had become unbalanced and unpredictable. If you don't agree with what I am saying here (Which is fine :) ), then I suggest you don't play with me. I am fairly confident in this being the way I see and play Kylo.

I play him as having triggers. I won't get into the reasoning behind each one, but i'll specify the specifics which come to mind: Abandonment (Perceived or real), his family, loss of control (Physically, emotionally, mentally, through the force)

[ Ben is glad there is now at least one other person who understands how insane his father is and how much he doesn't listen to sense until he is thoroughly, with out any doubt, proven wrong. And fortunately, even with the scant touches and glances that Ben and Rey give each other-- they are mercifully left alone.

Han and Chewie apparently are starting to get the message that these two are peas in a pod.

Ben is making his way through a ration when he stumbles across Rey. Like. Literally nearly stumbles over her. Hilariously, he used to do the same thing when he was a kid so-- he shoulda seen that coming tbh. ]

Chewie's got some rations for you if you're hungry. [ And get ready for the biggest sacrifice and expression of love Ben Solo can ever give another person. ] We've got enough water if you'd like to run your head under something cold.

[ He will sacrifice precious minutes of shower time for you rey. FEEL THE LOVE. ]

[ Rey cracks one eye open to look up at him, surveying the amusement in his expression. Something she sees apparently satisfied her because she pushes her elbows back and props herself up on her arms, huffing out a breath that's almost a laugh at his offer. ]

I'll be fine.

[ Maybe later, when the water has recycled through the system, she'll choose to take a shower of her own. She's definitely not getting in the way of Ben's now though. She slowly makes her way to her feet, groaning a little. It's that whole body soreness of a too-long marathon catching up with her. ]

Food sounds good. If it's not too much trouble.

[ Conserve water. Take a shower with him. Scrub those shoulders like you wanted to earlier. Just like cleaning out machine parts.

I mean-- ]

I think Chewie's been hoarding the good rations for you.

[ Chewbacca is the truest mother Rey will ever have.

Ben wipes off his hands quickly and offers her one to pull her off of the floor. ]

There will be better food when we get to the main freighter.

[ Luke's temple wouldn't be the first stop either way. Han had to get resupplied-- and they were gonna need to Find CLOTHes???? For Rey. Because she needs more than one outfit. Probably gonna have Chewie go out clothes shopping because who the fuck else got her clothes???? Also Ben, if nothing else, WANTS A NICE BLANKET. Also his clothes. Also his hair products.

Please. He's not a savage. ]

[ This is already better than the portions she has had for the past ten years by a mile. She grips his hand to pull herself to her feet and hesitates before letting it go, wondering whether she should share this information with him. There seems to be no way to do it without evoking pity. She doesn't want pity.

It's just … he treats this life as a granted. All of these things that he has easy access to, she has been suffering a scarcity in for ages. Affection. Companionship. Food. Water. Security. How does one even begin to express the depth of relief at no longer needing to prioritize survival above all else? ]

I'll tell him to share.

[ She says this gently. She never asked any of them for special treatment, and the quality of the food seems to matter so much more to Ben. She pulls her hand back then. ]

Can you teach me something? After we're done eating, obviously.

[ Ben shrugs. Used to this life and shitty rations. Chewie would rip his arms off. And then make him eat them. Like, Rey is about to get Bombarded by doting chewie mother and Probably Leia by proxy as soon as she hears about a Girl that Ben brought.

Which is not something Ben wants to think about explaining to his mother at this point in time.

He gives her a bit of a nod in affirmative. ]

Yeah, what do you want to know?

How does it … work?

[ Her brow creases with confusion as she strides alongside him, heading back to the cargo hold where Chewie is undoubtedly working on inventorying the dent Rey has made in their rations. ]

The Force, this power that the Jedi have. Where does it come from? How do I use it? [ She's only felt connected to it through him, and when those visions appear. It's completely out of her control, and that's … well. Terrifying. ]

[ Given the way these comments were going i was like "wait is she straight up asking about his dick" and I think that says a lot about me as a person.

Anyhow.

He actually has to think on that because-- he's never had to explain it to anyone. ]

Jedi work through the Force, it ties everything together so if you're able to manipulate it-- you can manipulate anything it influences.

[ Which is.... everything.

Someone get this girl to luke because at least he can confuse her on what the Force is. Maybe call up master yoda to say a few riddles and shit.

As for how to use it---

He holds out his hand to stop her in the corridor and Hey look.

There's Han a few yards off, grumbling while working on some part of this godforsaken ship. Ben gestures to the hydrospanner in his father's hand. ]

Take a breath, clear your mind-- [ They're doing this.

They're stealing shit from his dad.

This is honestly how he started training. Good times.

He'll take Rey's hand and arm at this point-- lift it up so her hand is palm out towards Han. ] Then reach out. And take it.

[ Her eyes open wide, but she makes silent the intake of breath that accompanies the way her jaw hangs open. Unbelievable. He's really asking her to do that? The look of shock morphs steadily into glee, excitement. She's never done anything this … playful, before. She lets Ben manipulate her body, splays her fingers as he stretches out her arm — like she's grasping for the hydrospanner from several yards away.

At this point, she squints, furrowing her brow, trying to focus on the spanner. Trying to yank — It gets her nowhere, but it's pretty funny to watch. She's clearly trying too hard to stay in the physical rather than combining this with his earlier lesson about meditation. ]

[ One thing occurs to him in that instant which is, dear god Luke is just gonna love this. He kinda looks at her amused, glad she can't physically see him pull that face because he's sure it'd just earn her ire. But fortunately he's a more patient teacher than Luke. His fingers glide along her arm gently. ]

Relax. [ Yeah, like it'll be easier with him groping her arm like that but sure why not. ] Let the thoughts empty out of your head. [ His hand tugs at her wrist to get the positioning a little more optimal before it pulls away. ] Take a deep breath in-- and let your mind clear when you exhale.

[ This is some more weird ASMR soft speaking ben solo velvet voice bullshit.

But once she's done that and he can feel her mind quiet, he'll speak once again. ]

And then grab it.

[ Now-- should be the time he remembers he hasn't

[ Believe it or not, the hand up her arm does help level her out. She finds a sense of calm in contact with him, as though it's sating some magnetic need that resists being put to words, and eases the tension out of her. Like all that stress that her life had been before him can melt away, reassured by the security of his proximity.

Soulmates or some shit.

Her breath grows even and calm, and her expression relaxes. In that moment, it's like she's a natural. Her eyelids flutter with movement behind them without ever opening, and then—

She can feel it. Energy. A thread that leads her to the hydrospanner, and she tugs on it. Not yanks, not bodily, but just … calls, almost. And it zips full-speed into her hand, which closes instinctually around it as her eyes open back up.

A grin spreads over her face and she looks up at Ben for approval when Han shouts — "BEN!" because he just assumes at first that it's his idiot, Force-sensitive son. ]

[ He's just returning that grin when his father is screaming at him--

And then Han sees the tool in Rey's hand. And all at once Ben is sorta seeing the Mistakes He's Made flash before his eyes. But he's just gonna handle it in the same dumbass way he always handles this shit. ]

It wasn't me.

[ See, Han's main issue now is that there is too many ways to take this. Does he accuse his son of teaching her dirty tricks. Does he comment on THAT'S probably why he picked her up. Does he say THAT'S why they seem to just READ EACH OTHER'S MINDS. And NOW HE KNOWS WHY BEN WANTS TO TALK TO LUKE.

See he can't even say any of those things with or with out sexual innuendo because he's realizing It's all true. The Force has done this shit again and he's just witnessed his son find his future wife because of the Force and he's KINDA MAD ABOUT IT. BUT CONFUSED.

Don't worry. Chewie comes along with a trill (and he's been watching from the sidelines) talking about how he's got food for Rey ready, just get over here.

Ben will pluck the hydrospanner from Rey's hand so he can go get it back to Han (who is still broken. We have Broken Han Solo), but not before murmuring: ]

Good job.

[ Ben's praise seems to improve her life tenfold. Like, legitimately, she's beaming after that, especially because their hands brush and this is something she shares with him and with no one else and it's marvelous instead of terrifying and it's the first time she has touched the Force in a way that isn't nerve-wracking and Dark and wrong.

So she's excitable and chattering as she passes over the hydrospanner and heads to Chewie to accept her food. ]

Did you see that?! It was incredible! I just reached out and it — [ This continues even as she spoons the rations he has prepared for her into her mouth, talking around it. She settles down on a cargo crate without even pausing, folding her legs beneath her. ] I had no idea. [ Chewie, at least, is warbling back. ] No! Not until Ben showed me how. I mean, I'd had the visions, but nothing like this.

[ Ben, in the meantime, is getting pulled aside by his father. Like. Way aside. Can't even enjoy how excited Rey is over his praise because of HOW aside his dad pulls him. Like, fake Han wave and smile and then pulled into the cock pit with the door closed.

'When were you gonna tell me?' ]

What?

[ 'When were you gonna tell me that she was --' Hand gesture here, 'Like that?'

Han's tone is a bit edgy and Ben actually narrows the line between him and Rey protectively. ]

I told you I needed to speak with Luke.

[ 'Are you recruiting for him now?'

Ah, and here are all the reasons why he didn't want to tell his father about Rey's abilities. He's not even sure which route to take with this-- because his father was already worried about him and knowing this had to do with him could make it better or much worse.

He'll try to appeal to the bleeding heart in Han Solo. ]

She would have lived and died out there-- [ Han tries to form a rebuttal but Ben's got a mouth like his mother ] -- we both know it.

[ Han's finger is half way up and his mouth gapes open like a fish-- but the words don't come out. It takes him a moment to gather himself, but something isn't adding up.

'You didn't just want her with us 'cause of pity.'

Certainly, their family was all for fighting for causes. But one random kid seemed--- unusually specific.

Ben shuffles on his feet. Posture stiff and eyes locked out on to the horizon. With a sigh he decides to answer honestly. ]

We both know trouble's on the horizon. [ Anyone who took Leia Organa seriously knew that. His father gives him a curt nod meaning he understands. ] She's been seeing things like I have.

[ That causes Han to tense and-- unfortunately, there is no bone in Ben's body capable of understanding how to comfort his father. ]

I think something is targeting us to get to Luke.

[ Han inhales, deeply, eventually moving to sit in the pilots seat. This was one of those days where you knew you'd get up the next morning and see a new wrinkle that hadn't been there the day before. He knew their family had been keeping secrets from each other-- but to think that his son had been hiding this?

Maybe he should be more mad, but-- didn't each and every one of them sort of deserve it after hiding Vader from the kid?

'You're sure she's not tricking you?' ]

I don't think it'd be possible at this point.

[ Han just... Gives him a look. But relents.

'Okay-- alright. Fine. We'll get back to the crew, re-supply, and see about goin' back to Luke's.'

Han knows he's out of his depth with this Force shit. But he trusted Luke's opinion with his life-- hell, even with his kid's life. He didn't like any of it, but he knew it was bigger than him.

'We'll have to tell your mother, though.'

Ben just sighs and rolls his eyes ]

Fine. [ Ben makes a move to exit the cockpit when a though strikes him and he pauses at the threshold. ]

You like her-- Rey?

[ Han doesn't even turn to face him. Just works his jaw as if he really has to think that answer over.

'Yeah, I do.'

Yeah, Ben's definitely looking a bit smug. Just had to confirm his dad was a huge softy for tiny Fighty Brunettes. ]

[ Gonna just... Go find Rey and her endless chatter that Chewbacca is patiently listening to. ]

[ When he finds her, Rey is still grinning and Chewbacca is taking the trash from her ration from her and putting it in the compactor (which is definitely NOT full of dianoga on a ship this small; don't worry, no tentacles here). At this point he's not even fully listening. He's just surprised she's still going. This is the most he has heard this child say since they met.

But she sees Ben come in and she leaps off the cargo container. ]

Han isn't mad, is he? Did you tell him it was your idea?

[ Chewbacca gives Ben a Look that he knows and he just attempts to shrug it off for the time being. ]

He wasn't mad. [ At the very least that's the truth. ] I did get him to admit that he likes you.

[ Didn't even have to use the Force for that shit.

And Chewie's just lookin' on like. These two are definitely gonna make out, how the fuck do I get Han's ass to bed before that happens? ]

You're sure you don't want to use the water?

[ He's wise enough to not say "take a shower" because that just sounds rude af ]

[ Chewbacca cannot quite slide out past Ben — they are both too large. So he instead shuffles to the doorway of the cargo bay, stands there looming, until Rey pulls Ben out of his way. Touching him serves to be precisely what she had wanted, as it turns out, so she lets her hand linger on his arm once it's there. ]

I want to be with you.

[ Put bluntly, perhaps, but she's sure of that. She feels more connected to him than ever, and it's like some strange Force afterglow where she needs to feed that for a while. The implication she intends is 'no, I'm fine; surely you can wait to shower too right??? if you don't mind??' but it also kind of walks the line of 'or we could shower together :)' ]

Was it like this when you first used it?

[ He's eyes nearly bug-- but then she asks a NORMAL?? ISH QUESTION??? ... Like pervvy if you squint and she didn't mean it that way. So. Wow okay. Phew. He was afraid he was gonna have to reiterate the whole. You don't want to see him naked thing, Rey. But now he's fairly sure he has nothing to worry about because it's not like she just expects that they're gonna have sex sooner or later. Or even tonight. That's good.

I mean even that hand on his arm is good. It's cool. Perfectly fine. ]

But once Luke made me lift up his X-wing it was a little less exciting.

[ ---WHich is honestly a joke. Because though he was struggling and cursing internally as Luke kept shouting at him to let go and stop Thinking so much as he strained o try and get a grip around the damn thing... He was still pretty fucking stoked when the thing lifted up into the air. ]

[ There's feedback in the contact between them. The pleasant kind. A hum that sparks back and tells her, Yes, your hand belongs here, this is what they were made to touch. She presses her tongue between her lips, a subconscious gesture to compose herself as she drops her gaze to look him over. Adrenaline pulses through her veins. Her fingertips brush the elbow of his shirt as though twitching lower in search of bare skin, but no. His sleeves are long. No journey will find her that. ]

His X-Wing? [ Elated, she beams. ] But they're so big! [ Even that hydrospanner felt like a lot!!! ] All the stories I've heard about the feats of the Jedi … They really are true, aren't they?

[ I mean. Don't worry, Rey. He's not gonna immediately put on his shirt after he's finished showering tonight. You'll have plenty of skin to choose from then.

And while he doesn't mind the touch, his sense of excitement isn't nearly as palpable as hers. He's got a bit more on his mind and is wholly unaware of her staggering attachment to him... Even if it mirrors his own towards her. ]

All of it.

[ He says with a note of fondness. She kinda reminds him of when he was a kid and hearing all of this for the first time. Watching his uncle lift things with the Force and igniting his lightsaber for the first time.

He tilts his head towards her slightly. ] Do you need anything else before I head to the shower?

[ To follow you in there and rub at your shoulders and chest and all the muscles she studied in the bath????????????????????????????? duh. ]

Oh.

[ She pulls her hand back then, flushing slightly. Disappointment sours the bond slightly. It shouldn't strike her like that — of course he wanted a shower. He'd wanted one all day. She'd been with him all day. It's both greedy and clingy to demand more of that. But she'd told him, hadn't she? That she only wanted to be with him. She shakes her head, dismissing it. It's fine. ]

No. You can go ahead.

[ She withdraws somewhat. ]

She withdraws and he reaches out almost immediately. His fingers find her's effortlessly. AND THIS IS when he actually keys into that feeling she had been having before.

It's that skin on skin thing. Like everything is aligning for him all at once. ]

-- You wanted me to stay. [ Suddenly those words are sinking in like. He thought she meant "be with you" as in, "hey lets keep this partnership thing going long term" not-- right now this second. ] The shower can wait.

[ He'll tug her out of the confined space and back to the lounge so they can sit which

[ The way he frames it makes it a more fraught emotional experience for her. She recognizes, then, where the disappointment comes from. Where the clinging comes from. It's her parents. She's afraid of growing attached to him like this because he can leave like them; being without him provides opportunities for it. She feels foolish — and paranoid — but Ben doesn't seem to view her in that light at all.

When he tugs her along, it spares her the humiliation of the tears that prickle in her eyes. She gets a moment to push them back down, rein in her emotional response to his abrupt willingness to compromise on that.
