Kylo/Hux: This is such a huge maybe it's almost a no. I am not down for fluffy Kylo/Hux. I don't think Kylo or Hux secretly love each other and that takes form in them wanting to murder each other when they walk into a room and see each other. I do not think Kylo wants anything to do with Hux's dick Ever. I only see this happening as Hux taking advantage of Kylo when he's emotionally compromised and unprotected without Snoke keeping Hux in line.

I know everyone and their mom with an armchair psychologist degree wants to diagnose Kylo Ren/Ben Solo with whatever mental illness checks all the boxes. I know Bipolar and Borderline personality disorder are two popular illnesses to cite when it comes to his mental health. Along with a healthy dose of citing him as a sociopath/psychopath. However, I'm not going to be using those illnesses/personality disorders in how I play Kylo. While they fit on paper, I don't believe "what's wrong with him" presents in the correct fashion in canon for any one of the above listed issues.

I believe Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is suffering from: Recurring Chronic Major Depression it could be passed down through their family given what we know of Anakin and what happened with Luke; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder From his force powers manifesting with him having little control over it as a kid, from being sent away to Luke after his mother couldn't handle him on her own anymore, from his father leaving one day and never coming back, from having a voice whispering in his head his entire life, from that voice being a predator who preyed on his weaknesses and molded him into what he wanted Ben to be, from Luke Skywalker holding a lightsaber above his head, from abuse after abuse from Snoke, and probably a Ton more. Abandonment issues stemming first from his parents (And quite probably friends he had who left for whatever reason, or bridges he burned on his own) and then just. The entire force tbh. And abandonment issues is where he gets his unchecked rage, he, in canon, is quite literally triggered into a rage whenever he confronts someone who he felt abandoned him, or when he feels rejected or left behind. Finally he is a victim of Brainwashing and indoctrination from Snoke. Snoke is a narcissist who was using Kylo as a means to an end, it's been stated and shown that he was ready to kill Kylo after the Last Jedi since he had become unbalanced and unpredictable. If you don't agree with what I am saying here (Which is fine :) ), then I suggest you don't play with me. I am fairly confident in this being the way I see and play Kylo.

I play him as having triggers. I won't get into the reasoning behind each one, but i'll specify the specifics which come to mind: Abandonment (Perceived or real), his family, loss of control (Physically, emotionally, mentally, through the force)

When he's finished he glances up and it feels distinctly wrong to look at her while she's stripping. But. Just think about it as if it was... bathing suits? Do they have bathing suits in space? [ The trouble with boxer-briefs is that they're not all that different than whitey tighties and when he comes down to join her, Rey looks up because eyes track movement and — R'iia's shorts, she can see everything. She now knows way too much about the way his body is built. Like. She could probably diagram every muscle — yes, even that one — just based on what she can see right now.

She focuses on pulling off her sash instead of looking at him slipping into the water. And then she's down to things that she actually … needs … to remove. Like, once either the shirt or pants go, she'll be more naked than she's ever been in front of another person. But he'd gotten undressed quicker. It should be easy.

She starts with the shirt. Stripping it over her head in one smooth motion, she discards it among his clothes, leaving her in a plain band wrapped around her breasts to flatten them and hold them secure. It's not graceful, but it has straps. She starts unraveling her arm bands and piles those too.

Somehow the pants feels like an event horizon, but she strips out of those two, feeling more awkward when she has to bend to step out of them and pick them up off the tank to set aside. Her panties have seen better days, alright. They might have been new once. It's not clear what color they were originally because uneven and vigorous washings have left them sort of grayish, white in some patches, and so forth. The elastic is worn enough for them to be slightly loose.

There's no way she looks attractive, she concludes. So she grabs her flashlight and uses the clip on it to fasten it to the mouth of the tank before she slides in to join him, all in a hurry so that he doesn't see her underwear for that long before they're submerged.

She can't swim, but the water itself is only some four feet deep. Standing room only in this bath. It's warm, warmer for the enclosed space and for the fact that she is blushing, looking at how much of his bare chest sticks up out of it.

Some sand and silt sticks to the bottom of the tank, grainy between her toes. They'd have never been able to filter this, but it helps take the grease and oil right off of her body. She rubs her hands over her arms to help rinse it away all at once. ]

Fortunately, he has no grand desire to try and check her or her teenage ass out at the moment. He wonders how much is too much looking and too much... not looking, because he doesn't want her to feel weird about this.

He's making work of rubbing at the grease on his forearms and shoulders for the moment. It's easier not to concentrate on how Illegal this all feels if he concentrates on the task of ridding his body of the filth that has accumulated. He's still gonna be finding sand in Every different crack for days, but... he does admit. The temp of the water is nice. Even if it barely hits his sternum. Nips are on full display as he rubs at his pecs here y I KEs.

I've told you what I know about Jedi. [ And as awkward as all this is-- the frustrating bit is his back, however. Even with his gangly limbs he's kinda.. Struggling with reaching it properly. Stretching and contorting his face as he struggles to reach part of it.

[ If you can believe it, Rey has literally never been submerged in water like this. It's a true testament to Ben's pecs that they distract her adequately from splashing and playing in it. But seriously, the closet thing to a bath she has had was a shallow basin filled with muddy water that would have better served for feeding animals than washing in. It's always been as sparing as possible. Luckily the dry air of the Jakku desert keeps things from getting truly smelly and funky.

But even Ben's pecs can't distract her for that long. She cups her hands in the water and lifts it up, letting it spill through her fingers. Then she crouches a little, bending her knees so that the water level goes right up under her chin. She's afraid to go further for risk of drowning. Yes, drowning in four feet of water. ]

[ She obviously hadn't been expecting a question. ]

Why don't you like to talk about them?

[ She cuts to the quick, skipping past all the bullshit. ]

And don't lie and say it doesn't bother you either. I can tell. Even now you're offering me information like you'd sooner have all your teeth pulled. [ She looks up at him as she says this and notices him struggling with cleaning off his back. She bites down on any offer of assistance. That would be inappropriate, right? ]

[ Oh my god, he was trying to make semi-pleasant bath talk. Not turn this into an interrogation of his Issues. HE IS NOTING YOU AVOIDED HIS QUESTION FYI. ]

When you're at the tail end of a legacy like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader it may become easier to understand. [ Okay wow. Harsh. That's a jab at her that is Way too harsh. Especially because she's young and honestly curious and MAYBE SUPER BLUNT but she hasn't been the typical. Starry eyed fangirl only into him because of his family. He sort of. Gives up on trying to get to his back and shakes his head. ] Sorry.

[ Getting an apology out of him is a miracle. He's snapped at plenty of curious acquaintances for digging too deep. Asking too many questions. He hasn't been easy to get along with recently. The dichotomy of being happier and yet also grouchier. ]

My mother and father pulled me out of training at Luke's. No one's really explained to me why. [ A huff of breath before he dips down and gets his head in the water. Has to get his hair wet a Little at least. Probably will get sand stuck to it later but fUck it. worth it to get at the sweat collecting in his hair line.

Ignore the hair flick he does. It is definitely illegal in this system. ] They didn't tell me that my grandfather was Darth Vader. I found out through the holos right when I was starting with Luke a couple years back.


[ Basically, Rey, you are meeting an idealist who had his entire fucking world flipped on his head. Combined with being looked at as a monster, sent off to Luke and then finding out you shared blood with The Monster.

It's a pretty fucking confusing time for a guy who got a lightsaber thrust into his hand. ]

[ Once wet, his hair clings to his neck, following the generous slope of muscle there, making it look longer than it is. She likes it that way. Not that it matters how she likes his hair. She shouldn't be focusing on this when he's obviously angry with her — or frustrated, at least. He's snapped at her, found her soft underbelly and gone for that.

He knows she has no one.

Rey sinks lower in the water, disappearing below it and pinching her nose to hold her breath as she soaks her hair, turning her buns limp and silly looking. She crouches down while she's holding her breath, forces her eyes open, and tries to get a look at the silt at the bottom of the ship's tank. How did this get in here without the tank losing pressure? Without the water leaking out? She'd rather focus on these things than acknowledge him.

It just … it hurts. ]

[ The water ripples as she dips under it. His eyes follow her form and he knows he's fucked up.

He's snapped before, fucked up some friendships because of his issues, hurt people that didn't deserve it. It's as if his brain could find the worst possible thing to say in a moment and let it leave his mouth without thought.

His mouth pinches and he's not about to bother her while she's underwater and avoiding him. Just another fucked up relationship to add to the pile. No one wanted him around-- that was the truth of things, wasn't it? He was caustic and hard to get along with- it's probably why Luke had sent him away.

He could never hope to be Luke Skywalker or Leia Organa-- or even Han Solo. Maybe he was destined to be Darth Vader's heir.

The most frightening thing, really, is how quickly the dark found him in this moment with out him even noticing. ]

[ She has her answer and it somehow feels insufficient. Insufficient because she cannot understand, not properly. She has no legacy. No heritage. Not that she knows, anyway. Some part of her longs for it, wonders if she could latch onto Luke Skywalker and be like that herself — it's a nice fairytale. It's how the stories would go.

She surfaces after not too long because she can't hold her breath like that. Some of her hair has come loose and sticks to her face. She pushes it away and then loosens the rest from her buns, letting it cling to her neck instead. ]

I'm sorry you found out like that.

[ She drags these words out. It's clearly the part that bothers him most — not just the burden of legacy, but the lie. Only then, in the breaths that follow, does she realize that there is something … wrong in this narrow space with them. Something cloying. She draws towards him. ]

Ben. [ It's familiar. It's here. That thing. ] What if they're not hiding things from you? What if they're hiding things from it?

[ This disease, this enemy that has crept through the Force into their minds, taken advantage of the bridge that lies there. ]

It's always been one in the same to them. [ He's still stuck in his head, not entirely noticing as she makes her way to him.

And he wonders if he was deluding himself, making it all up. Seeing a monster where there was none. Hoping like a naive child that perhaps he wasn't his darkness inside him, that he could be saved, that there was still hope and maybe he could be the heroes he had heard about growing up.

The darkness had grown more familiar than the light.

He shakes his head, as if to free himself from his thoughts (it doesn't work), and moves to turn away from her. ] I shouldn't be burdening you with this. I'm sorry.

I asked.

[ She offers this simply, stepping around him in a stubborn refusal to accept the way he tries to hide his face by turning away. Whatever is here with them, whatever she feels hanging over them both, she knows that surrendering to it will not end well. It is angry and bitter and jealous. It wants to split them apart; the only way to fight it, then, is to pull closer together. She reaches out to touch his arm under the water. ]

You aren't the same. I can feel it. [ She, who is connected to both, can see they are separate entities. ] You felt it in me too.

[ She asked, but he didn't need to be such a punk bitch about it. He recognizes this and, in turn, finds it hard to let go of the thought. Intrusive and loud. Seemingly all he can dwell on and then she touches him.

His eyes flit up as he catches her gaze, he hadn't even heard her move. Too wrapped up in his own drama and angst. He is drawn to her, totally. Everything has narrowed around them--

But something is clawing deep into him, finding that weak spot and tearing at it. Trying to get into his head and very soul.

His look is somber and really-- this is all too much for her to deal with. ]

And what if it's too late for me?

[ An honest question, maybe a dangerous one. He'd been with this darkness for much longer than she had, after all. Seen how it crept into his head effortlessly. Made his entire family look at him differently. Perhaps it was the same thing which plagued Anakin, it just skipped a generation. ]

If that were true, you wouldn't have offered to help me. You wouldn't be here.

[ If he was like Vader, he'd be a monster. And he's not. There's no monster in him. Suddenly, acutely, Rey feels a pang of guilt. She has brought this uncertainty into his life. She is responsible for the manifestation of this specter — or so she thinks. At the very least, she'd left him feeling like it had grown worse somehow.

She pushes past that, stubborn and resolved. ]

You're no Vader.

[ 'You're no Vader.'

The words combined with her touch strike through him like a bolt from a blaster. He feels a cold hand at his throat and smells copper in the air. Rage and fear surge through him and it's so disorienting he tumbles back.

He's in a foreign lift, dressed in black, backing away from the remains of-- something? The remnants of some device. Then he's fallen to the ground, sheets of rain falling down around him at-- a temple. No. Luke's temple is burning. His fellow padawans are around him, a few rush towards him with sabers drawn (That's when he realizes his own is burning bright) and others step in front of him. Just as he shifts his weight to sit up he's kneeling in a blood red room. The air is thick and suffocating, that dark presence hangs over him clenching into him as if he was a puppet and yet he feels resolve. Clarity.

He looks up and sees Rey.

Shit.

He's literally tripped on his own feet and fallen into the water. His lungs burn for air and his feet scramble against the bottom, searching for friction so he can stand up straight. He swings his arms forward and breaks through the surface of the water, eyes immediately scanning the area as he takes deep gasping breaths. ]

Rey!

[ His mind is a blur, he can't tell which was real and which was fed to him by something else. Certainly he's had visions before, heard whispers from the Force and the darkness, but nothing ever felt as real and tangible as that. What the hell was happening to him? ]

[ Her arms pull him in, one looped under his to hold him up, the other around his shoulders. She pulls him into her chest, clinging to him both to suppress his thrashing and to anchor him. Though she has never been much for touching, she doesn't know what else to do. It's surely to blame for this, the contact between them, but only because it has allowed them to flood into one another like this. ]

Shhh. Shh. I'm right here.

[ As she says this, she tries to concentrate, to clear her mind as he had taught her. She lets her mind drift away from that strange red room she'd seen, focuses on the sound of her breathing and the fact that it's not labored and tight like it had felt for that moment. She grabs a fistful of his hair and turns her head down, pressing her face against the crown of his head. ]

It's me, Ben. It's just me.

[vaderstan]

[ She's only 14, she's mostly starved, weighs hardly anything and yet when he holds on to her she feels like stable ground. He's breathing heavily, trying to process what he saw. He has no frame of reference for that room-- for that burning thing on the ground.

But one thing is becoming more clear. ]

We need to get to Luke. [ He's saying it more for himself than her-- he's not sure if she saw any of what he did. ] Something's coming for him.

[ And it was trying to work through him. ]

Something is coming for us.

[ That much, she believes now. Without question. But beyond her well-founded fear for her own safety, she feels something else — a compulsive protective instinct, born of compassion. ]

The best thing we can do for Skywalker seems to be to stay far away.

[ Otherwise, they have brought this creature, whatever it is, right to his door. ]

[ His lips press together and the image is seared into his eyes. Luke's temple burning. The stench of blood. Why would his uncle ever let such a thing happen? ]

We can't solve this on our own.

[ He can admit that much. He's not powerful enough to protect himself-- let alone keep Rey safe as well.

He pulls away to look at her and-- it hits him now how close they'd been to each other. His mind doesn't dwell on it long. ]

If this started with me-- and moved on to you after we ran into one another-- [ Not before which is also something he is still pondering. There's a shift in the very Force, he can feel it. Something's kicked into action that's been still for a very very long time. ] -- it may be trying to sway us. [ He hesitates to use the word "corrupt" since that just.....

Sounds wrong in the context of being almost naked with a child in a basin filled with water. ] Luke is the last true Jedi. If something wants to destroy him, it won't stop at us.

[ He can't run from this. If something is threatening the safety of his family and their well-being he's going to confront it head on. ] We need to warn him.

[ She has a bad feeling about this. A really bad feeling. She searches him, though, and finds only resolve. Even if it's misplaced, she can see that fighting with him won't get either of them anywhere. Beyond that, she feels suddenly cold where they aren't touching anymore, the loss of contact hitting deep. He has made himself like a stone instead of a man.

It's a shame. There's no tactful way for her to suggest that perhaps this is why Luke sent him away in the first place, to protect the last true Jedi and his school from what was inside of Ben Solo. She feels sympathetic towards that for reasons she can't place — he's obfuscating that, hiding from it. ]

I'm afraid of what he'll tell us.

[ This is just what Skywalkers do Rey. See horrifically bad circumstances and run headlong into them. Never tell him the odds. But her concern permeates his being and--

He's reasonable enough (in this specific au) to know that what ever she's feeling isn't coming from a bad place. This is a dumbshit idea, they are both nuclear bombs ready to blow. He knows somewhat what his own potential is, even if he down plays it intensely, and he looks at her and sees an equal. ]

We don't have to go straight to him-- [ Han will throw a fit and a half. It's better to get back to the main freighter and get supplied up and a good nights rest on a halfway decent bed before telling his father "hey we need to see Luke now"

[ Right now he is weighing the dilemma of seeing Luke. They needed to, ostensibly. But it was his temple-- no doubt. Visions were never straightforward, he's knowledgeable enough to know that. Undeniably he was on the ground, he was surrounded. Why would his fellow padawans attack him? And why would he be armed in turn? Most everyone was loyal to Luke to a fault.
