Kylo/Hux: This is such a huge maybe it's almost a no. I am not down for fluffy Kylo/Hux. I don't think Kylo or Hux secretly love each other and that takes form in them wanting to murder each other when they walk into a room and see each other. I do not think Kylo wants anything to do with Hux's dick Ever. I only see this happening as Hux taking advantage of Kylo when he's emotionally compromised and unprotected without Snoke keeping Hux in line.

I know everyone and their mom with an armchair psychologist degree wants to diagnose Kylo Ren/Ben Solo with whatever mental illness checks all the boxes. I know Bipolar and Borderline personality disorder are two popular illnesses to cite when it comes to his mental health. Along with a healthy dose of citing him as a sociopath/psychopath. However, I'm not going to be using those illnesses/personality disorders in how I play Kylo. While they fit on paper, I don't believe "what's wrong with him" presents in the correct fashion in canon for any one of the above listed issues.

I believe Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is suffering from: Recurring Chronic Major Depression it could be passed down through their family given what we know of Anakin and what happened with Luke; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder From his force powers manifesting with him having little control over it as a kid, from being sent away to Luke after his mother couldn't handle him on her own anymore, from his father leaving one day and never coming back, from having a voice whispering in his head his entire life, from that voice being a predator who preyed on his weaknesses and molded him into what he wanted Ben to be, from Luke Skywalker holding a lightsaber above his head, from abuse after abuse from Snoke, and probably a Ton more. Abandonment issues stemming first from his parents (And quite probably friends he had who left for whatever reason, or bridges he burned on his own) and then just. The entire force tbh. And abandonment issues is where he gets his unchecked rage, he, in canon, is quite literally triggered into a rage whenever he confronts someone who he felt abandoned him, or when he feels rejected or left behind. Finally he is a victim of Brainwashing and indoctrination from Snoke. Snoke is a narcissist who was using Kylo as a means to an end, it's been stated and shown that he was ready to kill Kylo after the Last Jedi since he had become unbalanced and unpredictable. If you don't agree with what I am saying here (Which is fine :) ), then I suggest you don't play with me. I am fairly confident in this being the way I see and play Kylo.

I play him as having triggers. I won't get into the reasoning behind each one, but i'll specify the specifics which come to mind: Abandonment (Perceived or real), his family, loss of control (Physically, emotionally, mentally, through the force)

Actually. Speaking of home and leaving things behind-- if she's really going to leave Jakku-- ] Did you have a home here? [ He hesitates before he says "home" because he can't imagine how nice it would have been. [ Baths don't make sense. Rey decides not to share this with him. They're more efficient in use of water, sure, but most ships have filters anyway. It's not like they'll be single-use-discarding the water from his showers anyway. Just re-filtered and cycled back through the ship.

She doesn't have to think about it very long because quite promptly he ruins the mood. ]

[ She says this and turns back to the panel she's opening. She pulls it off and sets it aside, opening up the fuel system. She's able to test levels and effectiveness from here, and the injector is just inside the wall for them to remove before they start collecting fuel lines. ]

I'm gonna need more light than this. Do you mind? [ She holds her flashlight up for him. She needs both hands. ]

[ For a girl who wanted to stay on Jakku she's gettin' awfully jumpy about anything to do with Jakku. He won't push it, he's honestly a little spooked to discuss.... anything about her life here. About working for someone like Unkar Plutt, about the things he saw in her past. He'd been rejected by his family time and time again, he'd reached his breaking point before his father and Chewbacca swooped in-- and now his mother couldn't call him enough and -- even that short conversation with Luke...

As much as he bitched about them-- they were here now. Here and really trying, despite their flaws.

He doesn't want to know what he'd look like if his family had just given up on him.

He plucks the light from her hand and bends at the waist to shine it where she needs to go and--- oh god. Teenage ass again. Time to find that ocean and coach yourself away from thoughts about teenage asses.

Also i just want you to know that whole "what the fuck is the point of baths" monologue she had in her head right there means she needs to walk in on Ben in a bath or shower scenario. Communal, personal, I don't give a fuck. I give not one single fuck. ]

That's not the kind of thing words can convey, and … and she doesn't think he understands what that loneliness was like. So she just hopes that he takes her at her word.

Then she turns away and sure enough climbs into the wall panel and makes room for the beam of light to continue shining past her to where she needs to work. The result is, yes, teenage ass again. It's worse, actually, because this is crawl space and her knees are pulled up under her chest so she's sort of bowed forward to get at the fuel injector to remove it, and it pushes her ass up.

Think of the ocean, Ben. Think of the ocean. ]

These couplings are really stiff. I think there's sand in them or something. This might take a while. [ She reaches up to wipe sweat from her forehead. ] And it might mean we have to flush the fuel lines after we salvage those to get any debris clear.

Well-- Luke always told new-comers that the first thing one should know about the Jedi is that he was throwing most of the old antiquated rules out.

They've been seen as peace keepers, but could have done a better job. And Luke always took his connection to the Force to be more about finding a balance between light and dark. Seeing each and judging neither. He credits that to why he was able to see the light in Darth Vader.

[ He'd only seen it in flashes in his mind before, but with Rey next to him, it became that much more obvious there was something there beyond what was normal. ]

And the Force-- you can't think of it as a thing, but something which ties everything together. Life, death, light, dark, joy, and sorrow. It's everywhere, binding all life as one.

The Jedi weren't always about finding the balance, for a long time they were concerned with only the light-- the response was what let the Sith rise in power. [ She's getting super cliff notes. ] And that denial of the dark is what led the Jedi to fall.

The Force sounds a lot like politics.

[ A.k.a this is astonishingly boring and not telling her anything about herself. She'd really expected the meaning of life here. And maybe Ben gave it, but not in terms she understands. Something something binding life, I guess. ]
